Fast turnaround time. Great quality leash. It looks great. Wonderful fit and finish.
I am very impressed with the quality and design of this leash. It is a great looking leash. The quality of this leash is far superior to mass produced leashes that you see in stores. I have owned many climbing rope leashes, but this is the first one that has a carabiner that can freely rotate which makes a big difference. It solves an issue I have always had with the Ruffwear Knot-A-Leash. Time will tell about how durable the connections from rope to the handle and carabiner will be, but it looks very solid. The only change I would make is to add padding to the handle similar to the ruffwear knot-A-leash handle and add a metal ring or make the handle slightly longer so that there is room to add an area to the handle dedicated to attaching a poop bag holder or small carabiner to attach keys, poop bag holder etc, to the leash.
The Mammut Dry Rope has been put to the test and has passed with flying colors! Took my pup to the lake and the leash took a barrage of water and mud and I had no issue cleaning off the rope. The construction quality is exceptional and the handle is very comfortable. No complaints! Great job Tuenne!!
Dogs = 94# 8Y/F GSD/Pit & 91# 6Y/F Boxer/Pit
Current: Several pictures attached. I currently use a body harness and chain slip collar combo for each of my girls. They are strong dogs, and have high prey drive so sudden unexpected pulls and take offs are what my products need to stand up to. Other goal in looking at new products was to find something at the dog end that has a swivel type connection as I run solid strapping down and constantly adjust and spin as we spiral and twist about. I use M1-K9 Gen 2 D-Ring Leashes
Initial: very high quality leash made with care and intent to serve dog owners that are willing to spend a little more for their well made products. The reflectivity of the pink and highlights is good even at night with lights for drivers to see clearly.
First use: I tried this product on my GSD/Pit mix first, she is older, less prone to the sporadic bursts, but is the stronger of the two. Upon receiving, I made sure to tighten all of the hex bolts (5/64th hex worked for me) and we were off. Picture attached comparing my rigging side by side. The carabiner is top notch, good lock, and has bands to prevent rotation in socket. My one concern, is the metal connection unit at the handle meet lead point. I double wrap around my fist, so with my current leads, it is just tight fabric on my hands, this Tuenne lead is a pretty hefty piece of metal pressing in when the girls pull (see picture for comparison). When I need to move both dogs to one hand, I achieve a high tight grip with current flat belt leashes in a single wrap, because these are rope and can slide, I was not sold on the single hand doubling that I do relatively frequently when needed on walks.
Follow Up: I will continue to use this lead for the next month before passing final judgement on whether it will become my permanent transport leash or to purchase another so I have one for both dogs. I did find that with an adjustment to move the metal block up closer to my wrist, this is more tolerable.
Occupation: Board Member for a Dog Rescue Network & Lead Transporter, I am VERY Picky about my equipment. At minimum, this product will be integrated into my transport bags, waiting to pass approval on for my personal use at home with my girls.
I am so happy with this leash, it is well made and the locking swiveling carabiner allows my dog to spin and play while on leash without getting tangled or detaching. It's also so much lighter than my old rope leash. So far the rope has stayed clean despite playing in the mud and the color is just awesome. They are super fast and the customer service is also great. The handle isn't the most comfortable if my dog pulls very hard but that doesn't happen often and I'm still very happy with it! I would love if they made a leash option with a traffic handle too.
